The Farm and Tree Advisor for Avon Wildlife Trust (Sonia Parsons) has asked Camerton to share this information with parish residents.
As part of the creation of the Western Forest, we are offering advice, support and funding options to farmers, land-owning businesses, community groups and local councils who are interested in planting trees on their land. Planting trees can bring benefits including shade and shelter for livestock, reduction in runoff/flooding/soil erosion, diversification of crop production, and additional income streams alongside many ecological benefits.
We are looking for projects that are:
  • Trees outside woodland projects, including agroforestry, wood pasture, orchards, hedgerows and other in-field tree planting, covering at least 2 hectares of gross area.
  • And/or woodland creation projects of at least 0.5 hectares.
What you’ll be getting:
  • A farm walk with our Farm and Tree Advisor to discuss opportunities for integrating trees on your land
  • Tailored planting design and agroforestry options
  • Support through planting to help ensure successful establishment
